Studying graphic design at Colorado State University, I spent countless hours in the computer lab during class, after class, instead of class and as acting lab monitor (a highly coveted position). Within the walls of the lab were about 30 Apple computers, 1 scanner, and 2 printers — named Homer and Ovid. Ovid the Printer was named after the Roman Poet Publius Ovidius Naso (known as Ovid to the English-Speaking world). His poems tended to range from desolation to love, a colorful range of emotion.
